As good as the SP01Cs are out of the box, I hated to spend money on parts to make a carry gun better. If I had not shot WTB's compact the week before, I'd have just polished and called it good. For a carry gun, it was already above average.

They are pretty darn good. I need lighter springs at least and need to replace the FP-RP.

Don't be. That compact of yours was amazing to shoot.

A lighter spring package would help. On the .40 compact that I have coming, I decided to just do a SRS. That includes the extended FP and lighter springs. Add a RP trigger return spring and pin kit and that one will be done for a bit. That's the plan at least.

I can see that everyone's New Year's resolution to abstain from buying or trading for any more guns is going exactly as planned. :yesway:

I don't make resolutions, THIS IS the year, when I will become a CZ owner .....

AND, I "expect" LOTS of help, from all the good people here .....

I took the Redhead to the range for her maiden voyage post Cajun/Wizard. I know you guys are probably sick of me talking about these guns. I just can't help it. This might be the best DA trigger in the whole group. I can't think of a better one. It was so effortless, in DA, to keep it in the center ring. It was really unbelievable. It's one of those guns that, while shooting, you just can't wipe the grin off your face. The Wizard and I were both amazed and that just doesn't happen too often. The SA is also great but that is pretty normal for these guns. Being that this one is the sister to the Ghost I had high hopes for her but I never expected the results to be this good. The Wizard didn't just hit it out of the park he hit it out of the county. ;)

Nope, part of the reason I enjoy this thread is everyone talking about their projects and how they came out. Makes me look forward to our group shoots even more :rockwoot:

Morning WTB. The Wizard and I have been dealing with a lot of frustration over the last couple of months. We seem to be running into one problem after another. I guess that's why this one is so satisfying. Once again I feel like I hit the lottery with this one. I have more of these than any one person probably should. I feel very fortunate. I need to stop buying them though because the frustrating ones are taking a lot of the pleasure out of it.

    Morning folks! :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Need a bit of extra coffee this morning. My youngest was in a car accident last night. Fortunately, it was minor with no injuries but it kept me up much later than I normally stay up. Unfortunately, his car is out of commission so he'll be driving one of my cars for a while. It will be interesting to see how the other guys insurance company handles the claim on a 29 year old modified BMW.

    I have no plans.
I have no desires at present.
    I am at peace.

I wish I were there too CM but I'm not right now. With one CZ project in the works and another inbound, I found myself looking at DW 1911s last night. 3 LGS near by have DW Heritage 1911s in stock and while that's the low end gun for DW, all it needs for carry are a set of decent grips. Then I started to look at the DW A2, but found those to be pretty rare. Then I thought about buying another CZ 1911 and building my own A2. Then I went to bed. Then I had to get back out of bed.

I envy you your peace. I'm thinking way too much about adding to the collection again.

Sounds like a winner BA! Getting a good SA trigger on a CZ is not hard to do if you follow some well documented steps. Getting a great DA pull is still an art that eludes me. I've been able to achieve a good DA trigger, but never a great DA trigger. The Wizard sure knows his stuff.

Sorry to hear about the accident Tim. Glad to hear your son is okay.

Glad to hear the gun turned out so well BA! With all the frustrating builds, you were due a win ;)

Sorry to hear about your youngster. Glad no one was hurt.

While the Wizard definitely knows his stuff I think a lot of it has to do with how well "shot in" the gun is when we get it. :dunno:
These two 85Bs, the Ghost and the Redhead, both are really exceptional IMO.

We did make some progress on the other ones. It is just slow and, as I said, frustrating. We'll get there eventually. Scratch shot better last night than she ever has. One more tweak and she should be good to go.

    Good morning fellas.

Glad your Son is ok, 88. Sorry to hear about the car, hope all gets worked out there.

BA, congrats on the newest one. You have me excited to start in on some of mine and am already looking forward to my next one...

My little range trip after work yesterday proved to be of some help. I am actually considering going again today with the SP01c. I really really like that gun, although it was bought for HD, it may just find its way into the carry spot. Would be hard to push the RAMI aside because it works so well for me, but I shoot the SP01c so much better. My range membership expires at the end of this month and I won't really have the funds to renew it right away, so trying to get everything in that I want to get in for who knows how long. I really need to take a break for awhile and concentrate on some other things.

I too was looking at 1911s last night. Not sure why, but that could be said for most of what I do.... I was able to jump back into a project that needs finishing, that helped ease the mind a little.

Well, being tight on funds has something to do with this but also that I really just am at that point. Not much out there that blows up my Kilts right now.
Old wood military stuff is cool but that is a whole new area of :koolaid:
