CM sent me pictures of the Slide/Frame for the 1911 Legacy build. The slide is a work of art...........when CM and AllenM get together and build a 1911 I must say that Baer/Wilson/Nighthawk could do no better...

I was just on the GunSprings.com site and ordered a recoil calibration pack for the gun. It comes with 3 extra power FP springs, which explains the pack of 3 extra power springs that came in the case. Somewhere in this guns past, someone went down this same path but at some point, the recoil spring was replaced with a very light spring. We'll have to see how this impacts the function, but the gun sure does like a heavier spring than what was in it.

Sounds like it will be a fine piece. Can't wait to see it all done!

Here's a question to the masses: If I go with an extra power recoil spring, should I be concerned about the reduced power firing pin spring in the gun? And, if I remove the reduced power FP spring, might I need to increase the rate of the hammer spring? I'm thinking that if I end up running the heavier springs, I need to load two rounds, shoot a round and then check round 2 for marks on the primer. If I do that a handful of times and see no evidence of the primer being touched when the slide slams forward, I should be fine. What do you guys think?
Glad to hear the fotay acted better.

ChrisK's gun is going to be pretty slick if I do not screw it up.
Thanks. I tend to forget that the expert himself is willing and available for questions.
