I need some quick ideas on a 1911 finish. I'm still working on the project gun for my nephew and was planning on having it plated but am thinking that I may not have time to go that route. I'm thinking more of a Cerakote finish right now and am contemplating going with a pewter finish with matching controls and a set of VZ Slants in Dirty Olive. What do you guys think?

I like the idea, but my personal preference would be for the controls to be a darker color, like black.

I also agree. I think the controls should always be a contrasting color.

I also agree. I think the controls should always be a contrasting color.

I detect a theme here. I don't know if I want to go with black controls though. How about either controls in blued steel or maybe a darker graphite color?

I still have not picked up the ignition group yet. The sights are in and the slide is with AllenM for cuts and some bevel cuts on the bottom. I have the ambi thumb safety ready.
