    Not far from the tree
Many diss grafted ornamental pear trees, but the secret is to shape them early in their life. I planted this Bradford pear about 12 years ago, as a 6' B&B tree.
It's now about 30' feet tall, and has withstood ice storms, and 75mph winds. It's never lost a single branch.

Just took this photo late this afternoon. I'm especially fond of it's autumn color.

My gripe with them is they are becoming invasive, like the autumn olive. And the new public enemy #1, bush honeysuckle. It's coming up everywhere.

I'm with you on hating the honeysuckle, and the autumn olive. So far, I've ignored the ones at the cabin, but if I keep it much longer I'm going after it with a vengeance.

I think that @gmcttr has a super weedwacker with a carbide blade. Something like that is my speed, although I'm sure that you have a monster machine to bury them !

After @Born2vette shamed me on the maintenance of my BIG deck, I broke my own promise and purchased a new tool !
I'm going to use this impact driver (my first) to make repairs. I've actually wanted one for quite a while.

I love it when the Amazon man brings something for me !

I have a DeWalt impact driver as well. Don’t how I managed without one.

3 mornings in the woods. 0 deer seen. Heard the most shots yesterday. Only 1 or 2 this morning.

    Not much on camera either.

Seen very little myself this year, and have been out several times. Cameras show promise, Dad tagged a 9pt opening morning.

Once more into the fray this morning. Good luck Jag!

    Marksman’s has one for $699
I knew I had seen one somewhere recently for a bit less. Thanks for posting as I was searching my email, etc trying to find it again... But no, I'm not buying it.
