Firing pin springs showed up today, fitted one up and installed it in the Marlin 1893, I think that was most of it's problem. Fed it 10 freshly made 32-40 cartridges and it hit the 80 yard 8 inch plate consistently so I'm happy.

As expensive as vintage lever guns are getting there are still some deals to be had on stuff chambered on 32-40 and 32 WS.
Will they ever make 32-20 again? It has been unobtainable since Covid hit.

I saw a pretty nice marlin 1892 in 25-20 the other day for 899.00

My wife had a wild morning. She had to go to the new cop-shop on the eastside, and report for Jury Duty.
Evidently, there were about 40 people (three groups) in the waiting area when the Judge came to talk to them. The judge was apologizing, and explaining that the defendant had decided to "plead" at the last moment ... so they'd all be excused.

Boom .... a woman sitting on the adjacent seating area topples-over, and hits the floor ! :runaway:My wife is a nurse, so she tends to her, while the judge calls 911 !!!
The paramedics shows up fairly quickly, and agrees with her assesment, that the woman probably suffered a stroke.

44-40 was probably chambered in more lever guns that most any vintage rifle, but it's the most expensive today. More powerful guns like the 94 and 1886 wold be 30-30 and 45-70 respectively. I like the Marlin 1893, it fairly easy to work on, the most expensive ones seem to be in 38-55.
