Just the doe in bow season. Never saw a deer during gun season, but I only had a few sits. Doubt I'll get back out this year.

Filled the pig tag at Sams. Still eating last years deer and the freezer is too well stocked to fit another whole deer in so I'll wait until October to try again. Anybody keeps track of Kroger's brisket prices, keep me posted if there's a sale.

Almost spelled it briscuit. That would be a different animal entirely.

Chicken in a biscuit are the best.

Same for me, doe. Say plenty, mostly on the trail cam. Dad tagged a decent 9 opening day. I've had more evening hunts honestly.

In all seriousness, yes, I know how to adjust optics. Was just me pondering about the settings as received. I didn't take the time to do any adjustments with the pistol or optics ... just went out and shot it ... kid with a new toy and all that. When it warms up a bit, I'll be spending much more time with this pistol getting it sorted out.

Deer season was not good this year, but on the positive side I did find three nice racks in the woods over the year that I'll mount as house decorations.

I need a few more "dead heads" for the outside of the cabin. Epizootic wasn't too bad around here this year so may be tough finding any on my walks.

The local state forester told me that the EHD was the likely cause of the dead animals I found. Hope to get out more in 2024 as this year all of my spring and most of summer was limited.
