    Good morning folks! :coffee:

Thanks for reminding me about that lab coat Patience. I need to put it down in the lab for my adventures in darkroom photography. I think I still have a pocket protector around too.
I don't have a lab coat, but I really like my leather welding apron I got from Amazon.

Good morning all. Done from the nights debauchery, headed to a class for most the day.

I enjoy watching you guys work and talk about your endeavors. MM's photos, 88's planes, RH's cars, TD's lathe-ery, 0830's mortgage payments...etc. (including but not limited to!)

I think I enjoy too many things to settle on one hard, save this.... I am turkey herder supreme overlord!

    Have a good day all.

9:30 is still morning to me .... so good morning, gangsters !
The rain is piling up outside. It's a frog strangler.

Received an 11" Magic Arm, and have been experimenting with it. It's primarily to put the 'light' where I need it for Macro photos. Little bugs (and similar) are often just 3" in front of the lens. So the arm holds my LED light panel, and positions it where I want it to be.

My notes usually consist of hurriedly pulling out a piece of printer paper to make notes on during a meeting and then I just use that until it's filled up.

    lol

I don’t use “fresh” paper but I have a stack of one sided printed “scrap” paper to use for misc notes.

Must be nice to be able to afford NEW paper for notes. Wow!

I try and make notes at least work related in OneNote (I share a OneNote notebook with a colleague for customer related meeting notes) , and new Copilot capabilities are helping out with that these days. As far as personal related notes, I tend to make scribbles on bills, etc. I have in the past tried to do OneNote for personal stuff on specific topics but it has not really been a huge thing for me on the personal side. I do use spreadsheets for tracking house projects, vehicle maintenance, etc.

    Wow....another guy using $100's

I use FreeForm on my ipad but still end up with scrapes of paper laying around with scribbles.

I have lots of spreadsheets. Some current, some aspirational, some not updated.
Never learned to do that spreadsheet stuff. My current math needs are simple. I either have the money or I don't.

Ha, more like notes scribbled on the bill that someone sent me with a balance due (like who I spoke to and when, related to a discount, dispute, etc). It's usually on bills for $100's but its outgoing. :spend:

I don't create any fancy tables, etc but I tend to use them for simple tracking, or download a ready made template. I use a pretty simple spreadsheet for checkbook tracking rather than downloading transactions into any 3rd party software.

I’ve been impressed with my P07.

So much so that I did a thing…

Talon grips ordered for the back-up P07 and home/property P09. Need to get the sights (and a sight tool this time, lol) as well as a WML for the P09 ordered.
It is really a great platform but I am pretty sure that isn't a surprise to you!!!

Notes are important. When I sit down to work on a camera, I have a notebook and pen with me to record everything I do because I'd surely screw the order of assembly up if I tried to do it from memory. Darkroom photography is the same for me. I keep a darkroom journal (sounds like something out of a romance novel) for the same reason. Each session with the enlarger and every roll of film gets recorded. Times, dilutions, temperatures and materials all get noted along with results.
As a technician I’ve found that a “picture is worth a thousand words”. Most of my process I have memorized but for new or rare processes I’ll often take pictures as I go, especially if wiring is involved.

What I keep good notes for is navigating diagnostic software. It’s common for the machines I work on to have hidden screens, hidden menus and require unpublished codes and commands for service mode and diagnostic features. I keep notes of that stuff. Edit: this is probably nothing compared to what the IT guys here deal with.

Yeah, I'm a toe-in-the-water first... now I'm all in, lol! Only keeping my Shield Plus and LCP Max striker fired guns (and a G3C)... otherwise, CZ's and 1911/HP's.

And, thanks to @DadSmith find over in Acessories thread, I now have a Streamlight TR-1 and sights on order with Dack Outdoors. The Night Fisions were less than $70 per set, no sales tax, and already paying shipping for the light, so no brainer.

It's been a good day so far.

ETA: Any suggestions for a sight tool are definitely welcome.
