I really don't understand how they keep that market share. So many guns today offer a lot more than a G***k. I think it has to be the market penetration/saturation they have with so many parts and holsters and such available. I'm not saying they're bad, just totally not for me. I'll keep my P10C OR which is better in every way IMO.
    That justifies a little gun porn....a $1500 (?) P10C with the optic.

Today I received a birthday gift from my wife. It had a shipping delay, so a day late. A cosplay Mandalorian helmet. She found it on Amazon. They did a good job making it and it does fit too. Kinda heavy, made from actual steel. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I love the character and enjoy the TV series.

    In the country, hopefully.
Back when I was an automotive tech, I remember hearing that some race teams would use high velocity gases (controlled explosives) to seat the bead on extremely stiff race tires. Similar to how an SRS airbag inflates.

But that takes “redneck” next level!
If by “high velocity gasses” you mean spraying some ether in it and lighting it, then ya, that’s pretty common. And I know nothing about race teams, I’m just talking about around the farm.

Out shooting the " C L Root" Winchester 1894 today. A special order gun from 1902 chambered in the at the time brand new 32 WS cartridge. Very accurate with RCBS 170 grain FNGC cast bullets and sitting on 30 grains of 3031 not shy of power. I've spent a lot of time trying to find out who or what CL Root was with little luck. It was definitely somebody's prime hunting rifle when ordered as it has the sight package only found on 32 Special rifles of the era. I don't know if the sling attachment are factory or added later.

32 WS was a strange cartridge for today, but back at the turn of the century the idea of a rifle shooting a cartridge that worked well with both BP and smokeless must have had a larger appeal. Ammo is scarce, but you can make the brass just by running 30-30 brass through a 32 WS resize die.

A hard hitting cartridge at woods ranges, I sold an 1894 to KJQ years ago who was impressed with the clang the cast bullets made on his targets.:)

I've had several. My personal opinion is that they were fantastic guns that paved the way for the modern pistol. Unfortunately they spent the last 10 years or more milking the market instead of innovating. Not knocking the guns, but there are better guns out there that are cheaper, with better features and just as reliable. G***k had the lead and lost it due to not doing more. I'm very curious if things change now.

    Ditto. I still have (3).
    RIP, Gaston.

It wasn’t the clang that impressed me so much as the dent in AR500 from 100 yards out. :faint:

    All true.

I don't mind the platform. I even have a couple with a decent factory trigger.

Glock likes to claim 65% of the market share but I believe that is a figure based on law enforcement and I will bet it has been heavily impact by the P320.

Maybe someone will google-foo market share by brand, platform and caliber. Please put it in an easy to ready graph with a 40 year time span. Thanks!
