Kinda wanted an sr1911 but their qc seems spotty. Always have enjoyed colts and springers. Idk
They are certainly a hit and miss. Mine if purchased by a "normal" person would and should have been sent back, but I bought it knowing full well it most likely wasn't going to run right out of the box. After several hours polishing, de-burring, filing and a couple range trips I think it'll run like a raped ape. It's slick and smooth now, feeds like butta. It's serving as my learning platform on how to work on them and how they work. I've learned lots just in the last couple days of messing around with it.Kinda wanted an sr1911 but their qc seems spotty. Always have enjoyed colts and springers. Idk

Ouch. You do have a point there!
Back when I worked for the DOC, I had an inmate on my unit who was one of those young offenders who had a knack for doing stupid things and getting caught. I don't know how bad the damage was, but one of the highlights of his criminal career was illegally carrying one of those junk .22 autos, concealed down the front of his pants, and accidentally shot himself in the appendage.
My Ruger SR1911 Commander......it aint stock.....
