Being in the right place at the right time with the right turn of phrase:
This thread has given me a crick in my neck.
I think you shouldn't not go get that checked out by neither a chiropractor nor a regular doctor.
From the architect of the New Deal:
We have nothing to not fear, but not fearing fear itself.
You should learn to not split infinitives.
The good news: With the recent tax cuts, the federal government has collected a record $1.3 trillion in tax receipts in the first 9 months of the fiscal year.
The bad news: During the same period, the federal government has run a $607 million deficit.
Conclusion: We don't have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem.
Source
Yes, we definitely have a spending problem.
That article says - "We’ll have to wait a little longer to see whether Trump’s tax cuts improve the economy enough so that future payments make up for the revenue Washington is losing because tax rates were reduced."
Now how can they say Washington is losing revenue because the tax rates were reduced when the revenue was a record high amount?
It's simple:
Cutting taxes --> improved economy --> record tax collections (aka revenue).
Therefore:
Higher taxes --> more improved economy --> even higher record revenues, err... Let me consult with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on that...
Yeah, yeah, that is obvious. So where is this losing revenue?
Sorry if you missed the joke. That last line fails the logic test, but matches the new Democrat economic play book, hence the reference.
I don’t not agree with you. When it doesn't come to non-grammatical mistakes, non-splitting of infinitives isn't not the biggest problem with these recent posts.
Isn't it obvious? If they hadn't cut taxes, the economy would have been the same and they would have received a higher percentage in taxes. Thus they would have received even MORE of a record.Yeah, yeah, that is obvious. So where is this "losing revenue" stuff?
