DRAIN THE @#$%*&# SWAMP!

Seriously... how is this guy surviving in this supposedly "different" administration? And what's wrong with a Bic?
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shelled out $1,560 to pay for customized fountain pens for Administrator Scott Pruitt, according to internal emails.
The 12 silver pens, made by a Washington-based jewelry store, included an EPA seal and Pruitt's signature, The Washington Post first reported Friday. The order was among a larger $3,230 order that included personalized journals from Tiny Jewel Box, a store that calls itself D.C.'s “premier destination for fine jewelry and watches.

Time and time again were been fed stories about how self-serving and corrupt Scott Pruitt is. If the president isn't showing THIS guy the door, then his "drain the swamp" saying, is nothing more than a catchy phrase to placate the naive.

Talk about naive and especially hypocritical. He bought a dozen pens for $130 each. That is such tiny potatoes compared to the past administration.

While in the State Department the hildebeest spent
$5,400,000.00 on crystal stemware - no bids, smells like corruption - does anybody know where they are now?
$630,000.00 on increasing 'likes' for the State Department pages on facebook - oh now that's a good one
$79,000.00 of State Department taxpayer money to buy obummer's books - isn't that like corruption to take taxpayer money and put it in obummer's pocket?
The list goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

Did you call even once for her to be fired?

That happened in 2010... and I joined 2011, and tended to address thing that occurred after my join date. Anyways, you noticed how I used the word "different" in my first post addressing the subject? That was meant to acknowledge that prior administrations had bad actions of their own. It's plainly obvious. Nevertheless, you bringing up a prior bad actions does not make this one less offensive, especially concerning Scott Pruitt.

The point is democraps talking about wasteful spending is like Bill Cosby talking about dating etiquette.

THIS administration said it would-be-different. That's my point.
And if you really want to look at the numbers, the examples you listed, weren't for the personal benefit of Clinton, unlike Pruitt. Tit for tat, on a year by year basis, you'll find that Pruitt is doing a significantly better job fleecing us. For example. The $5.4M in crystal stemware? That was over the course of 5 years and meant to outfit embassies around the world. Still too much in my opinion, but once again that's not the point. When someone says they are going to do something, but their actions are to the contrary, that's a problem.

OMG. Another one. Who gives a :poop: what the previous administration did? Wrong is wrong. Quit justifying what your guy does wrong by saying well the last guy was worse, so it's OK. Hold their feet to the fire just as you would the other side.

This country is doomed because the followers on each side spend most of their time justifying nonsense in just this manner. All the time things just spiral more and more out of control. Each side building on the wrongs committed by the previous idiots that held power.

BS! There is no "building on the wrongs committed" going on. What is really chicken crap is when the left spends like drunken sailors for years and years and the sheep don't complain about it and then they try to make a big deal out of a much smaller indiscretion.

Yes, that kind of spending on those pens is irresponsible but if the left didn't complain about the billions the last administration wasted don't start now about a couple thousand - it looks petty, silly and stupid.

The media usually looks silly and stupid. That does not change what the person reported on did.

We need to hold them all accountable. Excusing bad behavior has to end.

As a former drunken sailor allow me to say that, unlike politicians, we always got our money's worth. ;)

Think about what you said. The left was getting the benefits of all the excess spending.

You guys need to up your game. This has devolved into telling your mom that your brother did it first.

That didn't work with mom and it doesn't work here.

You're asking people to break free from the "but Bush..." cycle. People always compare what current president's do to what the last president did. Always. And others always come along and say "thtop it; thtop defending your guy..." as a way to deflect and defend the prior guy.

It isn't going to change. You defend your guy, they defend theirs. As for me, I mostly just sit back and watch the **** show. I realize that NOBODY ever wades into the swamp and stays clean. Nobody.

Not quite what we're telling you. We're telling you that your tribe lowers the bar for ethical behavior, and that now we just accomodate to the new rules. We're telling you that we'll fight under constraint by any set of ROE, so perhaps y'all might want to think about that before you set the bar even lower. The days of do as progressives say, not as they do are manifestly over. We're telling you that Trump isn't Nixon nor is he Clinton, but if you want to set the bar at prosecution for purely political purpose, OK; we'll play that too. Please continue to think of Trump as the movement rather than its champion. Never interrupt your opponents while they are making a mistake
