Exactly, that's why I said "I think."
Here, I'll give you an example of something you'd be more willing to accept. Remember when Obama talked about people "clinging" to there guns and Bibles? I immediately thought he was taking a distasteful swipe at rural conservative white people. That's at least what I "thought." There was no way to know, as that was not explicitly stated... but to people who were inclined to believe that, did so.
What do you think?

The Democrat majority also voted to break long standing House rules to do it.US House votes to 'strongly condemn President Donald Trump's racist comments'
Trump certainly tweeted something stupid. Super-stupid. Racist? I don’t know... but I tend to think not.
However, telling them to go back to their “own countries”? That goes against the entire ethos of America which is, in largest part, made up of people from elsewhere or whose roots are from elsewhere.
He could say “America, love it or leave it” if he wants and that would be less stupid....but “go back to your own countries”? I happen to think these are terrible legislators without America’s best interests at heart and who want to transform the U.S. into something uglier....but that being said, they are citizens. America is their country. They were duly elected.
There are dozens of ways to fight their horrible policies.....personal attacks like this? Stupid. Worst possible strategy (so far, but...)
No, it’s not 4D chess, its not locking down the base. He does not have to be this offensive to do that. He just can’t help but attack, childishly, when policy attacks would be fine. Plenty of people, like me, are not Trump lovers, but would probably vote for him versus any of the Dems....now I want him primaried (not that I hadn’t considered it before).
I dont believe he ever said go back to their own "countries"
This is the quote from his tweet
“Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done.”
I think there are a lot of Trump supporters that are not to crazy about the way he conducts himself regarding tweet spats and such but are willing to overlook the shortcomings in character because they favor where the policies that you have mentioned are heading under his administration. Myself being one of them. You have to. Look, I'm all aboard deporting illegals, making other NATO members pay their fair share, punishing currency manipulators, capping legal immigration, and a number of other things the president supports. On paper, and if the president didn't have a mouth, and I though he were smarter, I'd probably be one of his staunchest defenders. I simply can't get past his mouth, his tweets, and his general character. He's a demagogue, stoking the difference between American cultural passions to garner support. I know better than to ignore such things.

I'm more concerned about policy. If Trump were to fail to deliver on those policies then that would be a different story. I've always considered a Trump administration as a buffer to the gathering storm of socialist/open border agendas. That was my initial impetus for voting for him in 2016 and it probably will be the same in 2020.
That would be a hypothetical that I don't believe would happen so there is no answer. I don't believe Trump is a racist and I would've left it at that. I believe you yourself have said previously that you were reluctant to call him a racist. If the president said he was a racist, would you still support him? I asked this because I thought the obvious answer would be no. Tonight however I saw that question posed to Kris Kobach, and was shocked at his answer.
