I don't think the "Bible belt" has the political capital it once did. In the increasingly secular US of A, I don't think it matters. Seems like a bunch of Baptists likely said, "I can't condone how Trump has lived his life, but MAGA."

It doesn't always have to be about race. But, alas, it always is. Not talking about you, Mr. K, but if oprah, or someone like oprah, runs, it will be about race, no matter that 60 % of Americans have an aversion to socialism. Pair that with the feminists, socialists, illegals,, and other misguided souls in this country, and it's a long uphill journey. For the 1st time in my 58 years, I'm truly scared for our country.

If any black or white person runs, the media will make sure to point out they are black or white over and over and over even though it is self evident and doesn't need to be said at all.

They will also be labeled as male or female, conservative or liberal, capitalist or socialist, etc., etc., ad nauseam. All politicians get compartmentalised, they even do it to themselves intentionally to get the support of those that relate to their compartments. And yes, compartments are judged by the performance of leaders in those compartments. That is one way we know socialism is sucky.

Reagan, to an extent. Although he was Governor for eight years before becoming President.

Obama was a politician from the beginning.

Trump was only a celebrity.
