    I awkwardly love Camille Paglia.

    https://spectator.us/camille-paglia-hillary-trump/

I had high hopes for Kamala Harris, but she missed a huge opportunity to play a moderating, statesmanlike role and has already imprinted an image of herself as a ruthless inquisitor that will make it hard for her to pull voters across party lines. Screechy Elizabeth Warren has never had a snowball’s chance in hell to appeal beyond upper-middle-class professionals of her glossy stripe. Kirsten Gillibrand is a wobbly mediocrity. Cory Booker has all the gravitas of a cork. Andrew Cuomo is a yapping puppy with a long, muddy bullyboy tail. Both Bernie Sanders (for whom I voted in the 2016 primaries) and Joe Biden (who would have won the election had Obama not cut him off at the knees) are way too old and creaky.
    ...
Both major US parties are in turmoil and metamorphosis, as their various factions war and realign. The mainstream media’s nonstop assault on Trump has certainly backfired by cementing his outsider status.

She also praises Jordan Peterson, almost to excess. (I said "almost.") :) I'm not surprised they have an affinity for each other.

    Well worth the read.

Sen. Mazie Hirono: 'We Democrats know so much' that we tend to alienate voters

Democrats have a hard time connecting with voters because their breadth of knowledge tends to turn people off.

“One of the things that we Democrats have a really hard time is connecting to people’s hearts instead of here,” Ms. Hirono responded, pointing at her head, according to a clip flagged by the Republic National Committee. “We’re really good at shoving out all the information that touch people here [points to the brain] but not here [points to the heart].”
“I’ve been saying it at all our Senate Democratic retreats we need to speak to the heart, not in a manipulative way, not in a way that brings forth everybody’s fears and resentments, but truly to speak to the heart so that people know that we’re actually on their side,” she continued.

“We have to kind of tell everyone how smart we are, and so we have a tendency to be very left-brain,” the senator added.
Add Ms. Hirono: “We Democrats know so much” it can alienate voters.

    .
Calling people deplorable or stupid and telling them that you will put them out of work never has been a good way to bring them over to your point of view. Those votes count just the same as any other citizen.

Telling people how smart they are doesn’t endear them to others all that much either.

Your school lunches sucked and no one wanted them.

You know, criticism of actions, not cruelty about appearances.

I’m more laughing at what she says (or is said to have said). Appearance and dressing is fine, even if the clothes are a bit over the top for a “progressive socialist democrat”.
