Tombstone......everytime it is on television i loose 3 hours out of my day

This is like asking us to pick one and only one firearm out of the safe to keep! But if I had to pick one I would have to agree with RogerB and go with the all-time classic and most politically incorrect movie ever made "Blazing Saddles".
The first time I ever watched this movie was on VHS and it took forever because I kept rewinding thinking no they did not say what I thought I heard.

"He said, "The sheriff is NEAR!'"

"Naw, consarnit, I said, 'the sheriff is a n*BONG*r!'"

I like the scenes that were deleted from the movie for the theater and put back in for TV. Only movie I've ever seen that had that.

Yeah, just about any Mel Brooks movie would work for a comedy.
For animated, I like the original Heavy Metal also.

How do you pick one movie that is the best? How do you compare a comedy vs. a drama vs. a Western vs. a scifi?

I'll go with Young Frankenstein.

This is impossible. There is a huge difference between best movie and favorite movie. So I am going to have to cheat... Best movies ever: Jeremiah Johnson, Cool Hand Luke, Ben Hur. Favorite movies: Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Yellowbeard, 300...

He asked what the best movie ever is...Not what the hands down, without a doubt most over-rated movie of all time is.

I actually like the movie, I bought it the day it came out...But the hype behind that movie is disgusting.

Maybe I'm too indecisive, but I'm afraid I can't pick a "best movie ever."

However, I'm a bit of a Nicholas Cage fan. Now I know he's not the most versatile actor (as my wife frequently reminds me) but he stars in most of my favorite movies. The remade Gone in 60 Seconds, Lord of War, The Rock, and Con Air. None of the movies I listed are in consideration for "best movie ever", but I love 'em.

Best movie? I'd probably have to say Last of the Mohicans. Not my favorite, but in the top ten. It's a beutifully filmed, scored, written and acted movie. Hard to go wrong with it.

This is my personal favorite. Others close runner ups are Gladiator, Braveheart, Lord of War, Lucky #Slevin, and Gone in 60 Seconds.

But best movie ever? Casablanca.
