I am contemplating taking in a few museums that are out of town. These places don't allow firearms. What are some options for temporarily (several hours) storing my handgun and ammo? Leaving it in my vehicle would not be an option.

Bus station locker? Like the movies...
Thanks for the idea, but I checked and unfortunately lockers aren't available at bus stations at two destinations I intend on visiting. Like a lot of things, I guess the movies don't accurately portray real life.

Thanks, but again, leaving it in my vehicle is not an option.

I've often thought that providing a business for lock boxes near places where weapons, pepper spray, etc. could be stored is an opportunity. People who have to go to work places where weapons aren't allowed, i.e. government buildings, could access their weapons and walk to and from their vehicles armed. In my case, it looks like I'll be SOL, unless someone knows of a solution.

    leave it home, then........

I do simple things 'at work fer me ....know whut I mean ?........:):
Of course leaving it at home would be the last resort option, but I don't like to take a road trip of several days, out-of-state, without personal protection. The other option would be to not take the trip, since it is just a visit for pleasure. Too bad that this isn't an opportunity for gun shops, because I think that they have to enter every firearm kept at the store in their books.

If we had a general idea where you were going, we would be able to be of more assistance. Otherwise, we are playing "whack a mole" with random ideas. I know OPSEC is probably important, but even a little more detail would help us help you.

Do you have a gym membership that has facilities in those cities you are visiting?

Those locker rooms are certainly not fort Knox, but that's an option.

Thanks for your suggestion. That would be a possibility for some folks, but my membership is just for the local one.
