    No, I think you're 6 or 7. I'm pretty sure #5, at least, reported in earlier. :D

I thought about this last night as I was reading a history of Europe during the 1930's. I won't draw a lot of parallels, but they do exist.

We have a minority view in this country (Tea Party) which is aggressive and belligerent, blaming minorities for the problems of their country. It doesn't take a huge leap to see the similarities to fascism of the 1930's.

Most of us who hold (generally) conservative views on many subjects don't trust you, and for good reason.

Cruz is another slicked up egomaniac. Perhaps smarter than most. But, I still hear jackboots stomping in the background.

Blaming minorities? Hmmm. I've never been to a tea party meeting; I don't belong to any of their "clubs"; but I have read "tea party folks'" writings and their comments in the media; and I have never, not once, heard them blame ethnic minorities for the state of the country. Obviously, there's no way I could have heard every speaker speak or writer write so maybe I've been duped?

    Not really.

    Which would be.....?

I do too, but the owners are not who you think they are.

Your view of the constitution...perhaps. Obama as a traitorous Kenyan? Methinks you need to do some remessaging.

Using birther crap is a strawman. You don't have to believe that to believe that we are headed for fiscal ruin. The go along to get along crowd doesn't do any good for anyone.

Really? What minorities did Ted Cruz blame and what did he blame them for? In fact, I thought he IS a minority, or is he another of those "white hispanics" who don't get the Democrat love? For that matter, what minorities did the Fascists (Italy) or Phalangists (Spain) blame? If you're talking about the National Socialist German Worker's Party, they blamed a relatively wealthy, upper middle class minority, which formed a merchant and shopkeeper class, who they blamed for hoarding the wealth from the poor struggling masses. Gosh, I guess the parallels are there, except it's you and Harry Reid wearing the jackboots.

Stop watching MSNBC before bed. I am sure you think you are a conservative and I am sure most radicals on the left would agree with you. What would an actual conservative think?

It's really simple. The Tea Party Patriots are a minority in this country. You DO NOT represent the views of the citizenry at large or those of us who have typically favored the moderately conservative principles of the GOP.

The sooner your group loses the elected offices they presently hold, the better.

    You hold a minority.

Go back to your corners and shaddup.

So, the tea party is the minority being demonized, not doing the demonizing? How's that 1930's analogy go again? "Shaddup" or what? You firing up the ovens now?

Here's a recent summarization of Cruz that I think the majority in this country hold.

He's also officially damaged goods. His closed loop crowd of fanatics may love him, but anyone outside of that crowd thinks he's a vile, repugnant, megalomaniacal, self-absorbed, power hungry narcissist who will do
anything to get attention and more power. The world has just witnessed him stab his own party in the back, in cold blood no less, for the meager fleeting pittance it got him.

He is a Tyrant and Dictator. His policies are predicated on the theft of my Liberty and Property and the enslavement of my children through debt and inflation. Cruz merely is wanting the Constitution to be adhered to, as their oaths require. BIG difference!

Obama is a tyrant yet I'm sure you supported Bush when he signed the Patriot Act, a bill that gave Obama (and future presidents) so many of the powers that you hate that he uses.

Yet if Obama does the same thing he's a Tyrant and dictator. The double standards are amazing on this forum...

You are aware that Obama is the President and that Cruz is a member of the senate? It's very hard for a member of the House or Senate to be a dictator...I think what you meant to say was "The amount of civic knowledge is amazing on this forum."

Lord I wish they still taught basic civics in school...

I repeat: You are a minority view. And your minority is getting smaller daily.

I wouldn't be too sure of that. But I'm sure CNN and MSNBC probably are telling you so. Besides, if that is true, why are you complaining? You apparently love the way things are going. Bully for you. You have the world by the tail. No matter which party is voted in, you win.
