The bill would include hunting deer and turkey with silencers.I read through the thread but can't remember who brought up deer and turkey. I can't believe nobody pointed it out yet but I believe that deer and turkey were the game that would still not allow suppressors if the bill had passed...snip

@boonedock: There are many states that allow hunting with suppressors, and several that have legalized it recently. To my knowledge none of these states are reporting problems with poaching using lawfully owned suppressors. With the fingerprinting, registration, $200 tax and the 6 month agonizing wait to get the silencer, most folks aren't inclined to use them in an unlawful manner.
Didn't say legalize it did I now dumbass, have you guys ever been out of the city at night durning deer season, or in the round about time frame? Besides your "deer camps" that you overpay for?
That .22 wasn't deafining until you wanted it to be.....

Did the language change some when it got moved from SB0243 to HB1279? I thought I read that it would be a Class C misdemeanor to take or possess a deer or wild turkey while using a suppressor.

It was easy to miss read the language, it was never written that deer and turkey would still be a misdemeanor.
I'm sure it will be back on the agenda. Bills like this normally are. Sometimes it takes a few years to push it through but persistence pays off, and most of the reasonable state reps/senators know this.Anybody know how we get this back on agenda for 2013.. Maybe a more grassroots effort.
