The closest free place I know of is Arthur's Junction, north of Lynnville. It's a DNR range.
I think that is the Sugar Ridge range.
It is a nice range too, just don't bump fire because the ranger is just a minute away. And he can't tell the difference between full auto & semi-bump fired.

atvdave: For Red Brush, they have 100 yard, 300 yard and 500 yard. But from what I've read, you have to reserve the 500 yard one to use it.
If you mean Arthurs, 200 yard is longest I think.

snorko: sorry, thought you meant Red Brush

Thanks.. I was talking about Arthers... I work with a few guys that are members at red brush. They never said anything about reserving the 500yd range.. but I'll ask..

    Thanks for the info...

Looking on Google Earth it shows 4 ranges. Whats the longest in yards? Looks like a nice place.
    The longest range is 200yds then 100yds, 50yds, & 25yd pistol range.
It is open to the public all you need to do to use the range is sign-in & fill out a card to carry with you.
Be sure to have the card on your person when using the range.

Well.. After my son and I went shooting at my Mom's land we took a detour and went by Sugar Ridge. All I can say is WOW... what a nice range..

We didn't shoot there as we were on a time table, but I think we will be back soon...

Thanks too all for the info on the place.. Maybe a few of us can meet up there sometime.

Sugar Ridge is really nice, I shot there for years when I'd come home on leave until my buddy's dad bought his own land. Still go up there from time to time, especially if I'm looking to push past 100 yards...
