    A little off -topic so please forige me : Is it okay to store ammo in an unheated garage or out building ?

    Yep. I would store them in an airtight container long term to keep the brass from corroding. Here in Indiana we often get very high humidity days following colder nights which will cause moisture to condense on objects that are still cooler, and that can corrode brass if stored like that for decades. Months to a few years it's no issue storing them regularly.
