Eh.I wear Salomons as well but don't run unless I have to.

Probably just great shoes for IPSC shooting events on dirt or gravel.

I've noticed many IPSC shooters are wearing those.

Salomon makes some great shoes, but the sizes generally run pretty narrow. If you have wide feet it’s hard to find Salomons that fit well. Merrell generally work for me.

Always had my high top Converse basketball shoes waiting for me once I got off the horse.

The Converse will not protect as well from rattler strikes...just sayin. I need to get me some fire roasted rattler again...
