I’m not a 1911 ish smith and not sure if they have titanium firing pins or harder springs like other non series 80 guns but apparently Ben Stoeger got his new Staccato to detonate a primed case without the hammer falling.

Other than don’t drop it, Thoughts??!

"But guys, this isn't a big deal. The gun is built on the 70 series and we already knew that it wasn' tdrop safe."
My competition is supposedly drop safe due to the titanium foreign pin and heavier FP spring. (I’ll take their word for it) I believe my Springfield Operator has the same set up so it could be updated without going full bore 80 series could it not?

I thought the whole reason for the “series 80” was so 1911’s wouldn’t fire when they’re dropped?

I’ll bet every stacatto owner is dropping their gun now to try to get it to fire

And as I said when everyone was dropping their sigs…don’t drop any gun period!

The market said it didn't want Series 80 guns because the triggers sucked.
I remember people bi&$;ing about a series 80 is so horrible to a 70. Probably the same ones that complained about Gen 4 Glock triggers are worse than Gen 3 and whatever they say about Gen 5

I’m convinced people complain WAY too much on well everything but with guns especially. Like everyone is in the same level as Miculik or Leatham

Did everyone miss the part about a police department thinking they NEEDED their officers carrying a near $4300 1911 style gun? Is it actually necessary to carry with the hammer back already? What about the drop test with the hammer in its resting place.
