I have a chance to pick up a new Ruger sr1911 Talo with rail at I think, a really good price, ($650). I don’t know much about 1911’s but have always had good luck with Rugers and have wanted a 1911 for awhile.

does anyone have experience with this model? I can’t find much on the Talo rail version.

    thanks!

I have the original Gov and the Lightweight CMD style in 45ACP. Both run flawlessly. The CMD is my edc I have made two changes to it thicker grips, did not care for the thin grips it came with, and a sharpie to the rear dots.

It is a very nice 1911 for the money. I would be all over it like white on rice.

Oh geez man that is just mean......:(

But the purple gives you a pass.................I guess.....

What can I say? I may put up a pro polymer front, but I love 1911's. You know what they say... anyone that doesn't like a 1911.... probably voted for Obama

I've got a churchmouse version of a ruger sr1911 as my first 1911. It was his wifes. If it's good enough for his wife, I'd say it's a decent piece. If it wasnt, he woulda made her a springer :)

    Shot my Commander today actually.

To answer your question, yes. That's a good price for a standard model. Definitely for a TALO. I haven't fired a TALO sr1911, but love mine. Having owned several models of 1911, the Sr series is a great way to get a fine 1911 without breaking the bank. It's no Less Baer, but you won't be disappointed either.

In short, buy it. No regerts (lol).

I've shot a couple Ruger 1911's and they are typical nice shooting 1911's. And a friend uses one for bowling pins and has won a number of times (him more than the gun) but it runs and runs and out of several 1,000 rounds o we several weeks of matches I've never seen him have any issues. A CMD might be in my future

Another who has owned and shot an SR1911, but not the Talo model specifically. As well as my original 5" SR1911 ran, I can say you will love the gun :yesway:

I have a Ruger Lightweight Commander 1911 that has several thousand rounds through it. It is my EDC and has been through a Gunsite class. Flawless operation, Buy with confidence. That is a good price by the way.

Are all of their 1911s bushingless set ups like the 10mm version?

No, the 45 Acp has a bushing and one manufacturing item (a lot of folks emphasized about) is the barrel and bushing on the 45 is made from the same bar stock.

Someone else can add any info to their 9mm offering

There is not much of the original SR left in that one. I have replaced it and it is part of the legacy series I am building for my kids.

Top left. It is not completed as yet but the mechanical's are done. It shoots a lot like yours does minus the comped barrel. 4 kids.....4 custom 1911's

Well I’m picking it up tomorrow morning! Ive been wanting one for awhile and for the price I can’t really pass it up.

Might do some upgrades down the road but don’t even know where to start in that aspect. Looking forward to it though!
