I am getting ready to pick up a Ruger SR1911 next week. I would like to get a holster for it from here.
As you can see the SR1911 is not on the list so my question is, from the list, what 1911 model is closest (dimension wise) to the SR1911?

Leather is good about taking the shape of whatever gun is in it the longest. I have a holster that was made for a Glock 22 but the outline of it looks alot like my Sig P220. just get a standard 1911 holster and the leather will mold to the particular gun after a while.

Once again, It is standard. There are not enough diminsional changes between the brands that you need to be concerned especially if gonna use leather. When I got my SR1911 I just borrowed a holster from a friend( That prefers to carry Springfield) and it fit fine. I also use a Blackhawk from time to time

If you are concerned about something to fit your Ruger perfectly you need to contact a custom holster maker. Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, Kramer, C. Rusty Sherrick, KD Holster, UBG [Ugly Bald Guy], Alessi, F.I.S.T. to name a few. They can be rather spendy, but are very nice holsters.

If you want something with a pretty good fit go with DeSantis, Galco, Gould & Goodrich, Bianchi, etc.

That's a Galco so just pick whatever brand 5" 1911 and you'll be fine. I agree with the above, for a better quality fit you'll have to pay a little more. You can usually find pretty good deals on Kramer, Rosen, and Sparks on ebay. Also, Dillon has pretty good prices on Rosen leather too for probably not much more than the Galco's.

Just about the only 1911 that won't fit into standard holsters are the Sig-brand 1911s as they tend to be a little "fatter" than others.

Other than that...just about any holster will work; unless it's been specifically boned/molded to a specific holster.

    I have a SR1911 and a SW1911. Any holster for a 5" 1911 holster will fit the SR1911. I use a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Galco-Vertical-Shoulder-Holster-Springfield/dp/B0014VU5SQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328885837&sr=8-1"]Galco Vertical Shoulder System[/ame] and the SR1911 (and SW1911) fit in it like a glove.
