Pineys are also known as "red squirrels".
If you see a fox or grey squirrel running like mad there's probably a piney chasing it.
    Aggressive little bastids.

If anyone shoots a piney, fox, and gray at the same time, would you mind posting a picture? I shot 4 grays yesterday, but they had some reddish color in them. Now I don't know if they were pineys.

Pineys are small.............this is a 10/22 for size comparison ('bout half the size of a reg fox squirrel, maybe even less).
Greys seem to be 2/3 to 3/4 fox squirrel size.

I made it out to Wilbur Wright FWA this morning for about an hour. First time there, hunted in unit 2. Walking in heard one cutting, stalked it but it turned out to be a piney, a pretty small one at that. I moved on and scarred up another 2. Stalked a grey and bagged him. Saw a few more but couldn't get a clear shot at them and had to go so couldn't wait around too long.

Chipmunk's cousin with a terrible attitude.
They are pretty though, I think the best looking of tree squirrels.

Dunno if I have the eyes to take these demons with an iron sighted .22 pistol anymore.

Finally got out! went for a drive and checked into the area near the battle field walked around a bit but didn't see anything. No big deal though it was late wasn't really expecting much just walked around for 30 or so minutes. Gonna head down near Milan this weekend anybody know of some public land down there?
