I know this is a thread jack, but I'll have to try that tomorrow. Rubbing alcohol or something like Jack Daniels? And I"m guessing you soak the TP in it?

Slice the roll. Take out the cardboard. Compress into can. Fill with rubbing alcohol. Everclear would burn better, but not worth the investment. JD won't burn without preheating, again not worth the investment, save the whiskey for antiseptic.

    Smokeless fire? Do tell...

    Yes, please do!

Dig a hole 12" to 18" deep by about the same dimensions across. Now build your fire in the pit...

    NOTE:
Smokeless fires require dry wood. Period. Yes, you can get a smokeless fire with high heat, but where are you going to get that high heat until you burn enough wood to get it? And what about all the smoke you create getting to that point? A bed of coals gives off a lot of heat, and almost no smoke. Only when a pocket of green wood, or sap, or a knot is reached in the burning is there smoke given off. Use dry material to start your fire, and the driest materials you can find to feed it. Don't pick brush off the ground. The ground is mother nature's sponge, and it hold water and lets it be sucked up by any dry debris that falls on the ground. Take dead branches from standing trees, even if it has been raining for days. Tinder comes from the undersides of everything, where it is out of wind, and under enough wood, or rock, to not get rained on and dampened. Find dry twigs on living plants. If they are dead enough to snap off in your fingers, they are dry enough to burn without smoke. If you are building a fire in the rain, find a sheltered spot, but remember that the rain cleans the air of all kinds of crap, including smoke from a fire. IN old forests, you will find thickets of standing trees that died after growing for maybe ten years, because they were shaded out by larger species. As they decay, they will be full of termites, and you can kick them over, and drag them to your fire for firewood. Prop one end up on a rock or log, and stomp on the middle of the stick, and you will have two pieces. Drape them over your starter fire, and they will ignite, as they burn push the ends in to the middle to keep the fire going. You can build a lean-to with sticks, and leaves to give shelter to the fire, and a heat reflector to help keep you warm and out of all but the worst weather. Bark sheets from large dead trees serves a great shingles, and layered, they can provide very adequate shelter from rain, and a reflector to push heat back into the lean-to where you sit and sleep. Pick the right spot, out of the wind, and sheltered from the worst of the rain by trees, and where the ground is drained well, and you should be able to survive for several days staying reasonably warm and dry.

Now that you know how to build one with out smoke ( or very little anyway).
How do you get one with no flame?
And then how do you hide where your fire has been?
