Building a .45 42" flinter right now. It's my first and I'm learning a lot from it. The next will be the son's "Isaac Haines" .50 with waisted barrel, then I will build my .54 and give the .45 to my best friend if he wants it.

Its an old CVA kit my pop bought me for my 12th Bday we built it together, we sanded and finished all the wood blued all the steel and hand fitted all the parts my first year deer hunting. She is a sweetheart she has set triggers and is a tack driver out to 100 yards with 370 gn maxi balls. She'll thump ya for all your worth LOL...

I'll be using my .54 cal SW Virginia Flintlock with a 44" Getz swamped taper barrel and 80 gr of 3F. She's a sweet shoot'in rock-lock and a beauty to behold.

If the weather is really crappy, I'll break out the .62 cal smoothbore beater. She's a rock-lock to, ugly, worn and well aged, but gets the job done.

    Absolutely love traditional rock-locks.

I'm going gto try going "new-school" this year. I've filled my buck tag, but the does need to watch out for one of them there new-fangled electric muzzle loaders.

I went and bought a CVA Electra. Uses a 9v battery in leiu of a primer cap. Pretty much instantaneous ignition.

Can't wait to give it a try.

T/C Triumph, 50 cal, camo stock, weathershield, 250gr shockwave sabot, 100gr pyrodex. Gun is more accurate than I am....two does and a buck will attest to that!

My TC Newenglander that I bought off the used rack for $25.00. With 70 grains of 3F behind a linen patched round ball, it will print one-whole groups out to about 50 yards.

Me, standard 209X50 Magnum Encore, wife, Encore Endeavor, 28" barrel with quick breech plug, synthetic stock with rubberized areas, all in all a better gun than I am taking but, hey, that makes it a win/win for me! :)

we'll see that I find on sale this week ;)

MCSports in Bloomington has great timing , brought home my brand spanking new CVA Wolf for $169 on sale.

I tell you what, I've had the T/C Omega, the CVA Accura and the CVA Optima... and this little Wolf is VERY impressive.

Nice grab!:rockwoot: Good price too. I got mine for about $105 on sale five years ago. Looks like they've redesigned some stuff for the better. Yours has what looks like finger screw breech plug (mine takes a wrench). Yours also has a new stock and the breech release is shead of the trigger whereas mine is behind. These are good changes- congrats!
