    OH I LOVE MILK!
If I had a cow I'd lay under her all day long. I would udderly be in heaven.

Freezing milk is fine. Thawing it can suck. Let it thaw completely before drinking. My kids would keep going into the fridge and pouring out whatever is not still ice all day then what's left is all watered down and pooey.

I used to thaw it just by putting the jug in my dish drain rack by the sink for a few hours and shake it every now and then until I couldn't hear the ice bang the sides of the jug anymore. The jug will sweat profusely as it thaws so this ended up being a win/win anyhow.

One thing I have noticed at Kroger at least. Apparently there are a lot of people that are using the self-scan lanes for the first time. Instead of ringing items up and bagging them as they go, they ring everything up, stack it all "loose", pay for it, and then stand there bagging everything instead of just putting the bags in their cart (if they had bagged as they go), blocking an available register until they get done. Drives me crazy. :xmad:

That is what happens when you don't train the work force. I bet they didn't use their employee discount either.

We were in Whiteland on business and stopped into the Kroger on Worthsville Road at 5:00 pm or so to pick up eggs. There were a few dozen cartons left. She said that a gentleman wiped down a cart for her before she went in, people were very pleasant and kind in the store and a gentleman let her get ahead of him in line since she had just an item or two.

Of course, she's much better looking than I am. I probably would have been arrested as a vagrant.

Kokomo. Went to Sam's club to get gas, and just to see what was going on I went over to Walmart and parked along the curb by the entrance. Looks like any other Friday afternoon. People coming out with full carts of a variety of things, including milk, fresh fruit and veggies, and even one lady with two small packages of toilet paper pilled on top of the other groceries she bought. She didn't have them in a bag like her other groceries, so I think she was trying to impress someone that she was able to get them.

Putnam County is doing pretty well. Local Wal-Mart had some food on the shelves. Eggs and TP were gone. Some of the local smaller stores have had better supplies. Gun shops in the West Central part of the state are doing very well right now! Ammo is getting pretty low in some. Morale here is good!

Something I hadn't given a thought to, dogfood.

We have plenty for our hoard but our son in KC needed a bag of puppy food for his mutt. He drove all over town with out finding any. Finally found some at Sam's. Got the last bag of puppy food in the store. And they were limiting people to one bag.

Our mutt is on some special diet from the vet. Ordered 3 months worth last week. Still waiting on it, and getting low. Luckily, dog has his own preps. 30# of kibble should hold him until the special stuff shows up. Gotta keep him fat and juicy in case we get a bad case of Socialism.

Always keep the animals needs in my preps. Granted its usually not as long of a supply as for the rest of the family. I changed that about a month ago and now have a minimum 3 month supply for the animals as well

This is a Newfoundland. Could feed us for a month, and knit a sweater with the rest.

Kidding of course. More like a couple of knitted caps.
Newfies are my favorite breed of dog I'll never own.

    So. Much. Hair.
