Seriously, if it ran when it was parked, then it just needs new belts, hoses, plugs & wires, cap & rotor (points?), oil, gas, maybe some wireing, battery, maybe a carb rebuild kit,

You wouldn't be talking much labor or money to get it to run.

Now to make it run good would be a little more of both.

Well the FIL's at it again. After a few days of some warmer weather, he started his spring detail on his 09' GT. He's getting his baby ready for car show season. Also he wanted me to pass on the word that depending on the age and quality of the paint he can make almost any car shine like this in about 6 hours for $200. (He's trying to get a little side business going, and loves detailing cars.)

What all have you done to that 385? (I assume that it's based on the 385 series ford engines).

I've got a 460 block stashed away that I plan on eventually turning into a respectable 521 stroker build for my nice f250.

Yeah, it is a 385 series engine, started as a mid 70's 460.
I used a scat forged stroker crank, H-beam scat rods, Diamond brand forged pistons, edelbrock Victor CJ Heads that were port matched to the Victor intake. 1050 cfm dommy carb, big solid roller comp cam and a 5,000 stall converter in the C-6.
    Gotta love those BBF'S!!
