We should apologize but if Bernie was POTUS...maybe not so much.

"Well, it's … I mean … I'm not exactly sure what it means," replied Sanders haltingly. "As a nation, we have got to apologize for slavery; and of course, the president is the leader of the nation."

...and this passes as a legitimate presidential candidate for the democrats? People must really, really dislike Hillary.

No, we have done all of this. Time to put all that away. There is not one person alive in this country now that had to go through that.
There are a lot of people alive "In This Country" living very well as a result of that.
Not saying it was right as it was not but this is where we are now. Standing on US soil.

sweet never seen that before. Learn something new everyday. And I agree I think enough Americans died for there freedom that they should apologize to us for not fighting for there own freedom.

South Carolina just apologized by striking the Battle Flag.

If this is the best the right has on Bernie, they need to work harder.

I dislike this guy more every time I read something he's blabbed on about. Doesn't seem like he's all there. :dunno:

I hate these discussions, because nothing comes of it and someone always takes it WAY past the point of decency! Just because a person has a decent life, doesn't mean the credit is due to being stolen and enslaved. Go on with the discussion, but these statements, which I've seen posted several times, is nothing more than drivel.

What about the countless lives that this country sacrificed to get rid of slavery? Thats not enough? We should be celebrating what we've done as a nation, how we've grown, how we've taken civil rights to seriously. Bernie is a wacko, that says a lot about the huge number of people who support his socialistic idiocy.

Did the Indians ever get an apology?

They got reservations to Reservations. I never hurt a Indian, or had a slave so I have no need to apologize. Why waste time asking or looking for one. Get on with the life you got and make the best of it. In the end God will sort it all out from generation to generation.

At least Sanders is honest in his views. He doesn't play to each voting block. Compare him to Hillary or our current President and I find his honesty almost refreshing. With that said I could/would never vote for a socialist as I find their views repulsive, but at least he voices them in the open.
