Picked up my two-tone 457 from the FFL today. I can see why the 457's are as popular as they are. I'm tempted to do a project, as Numrich has stainless 457 slides in stock...

    Never even held a 457...sigh.

    Shot the cs45 yet?

Haven't had a chance yet, my normal shooting spot is on the family farm, and well, until the weather warms up, it's hard to convince myself to go shoot in the cold.

Here are my 2-tone guns together. I really do like the look of them. Anyone have any time with a Shorty 40?

Anyway, won a 4046TSW and 2214 on gunbroker, and walked into the local big box store to see a Governor sitting there (which they don't normally carry). Thankfully I had some gift cards so it didn't set me back as much as it could have, but boy it's a nice piece to go with all my 3rd gens.

Good luck trying to find a mag release as they are plastic and one time use. though I have read you could machine the frame to accept a steel mag release. In the end I would probably pass on that one especially if the slide is seized as they make it seem to be.

Depends how cheap it goes, might be worth it for just the magazine

    3906 fail.

Thought I’d buy that surplus one in Gunbroker for no more than $450. It’s at $455. Ugh.

edit: final price was 520+ $30 shipping plus any FFL. Either I am getting really cheap or that seems like a lot of money for a surplus pistol.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/162931731884?ul_noapp=true found this too, I already have a 457 but something like this would be fun to tinker with. That stuck slide is probably a game changer tho.
If you could get the frame for under 100 you should be able to do it for under 375. Though finding an original unused mag release is hard to do. I would probably find someone who can mill the frame to accept a steel release. But at 375 I would try my luck at finding a decent one already.

Only 2000 made and the market keeps shrinking.

I've only got four 3rd gens left and two 2nd gens on my list then I am DONE.

Plus I want one to cerakote just for me.

    and maybe a 915 and a 457.

    745 would be nice too.

Maybe a nickel 39 (Dad had one).

A couple PC guns would be sweet.

Oh, a 5" 5906 - yea need one of those.
