Some might say they're not as "pretty" as other revolvers. Beauty, of course, is in the eye of the beholder..

    Is that a "con"?

How dare you suggest that my SP-101 isn't pretty!

A con may be that it's heavy.... But that should also go on the pro side as well. That weight makes 357's manageable.

heres what you wont like about it when you shoot it .
1.the trigger. its heavy and sharp. a little sandpaper and polishing takes care of this.

    2. the trigger pull itself is heavy too. i changed the springs and gave it a trigger job. 100%better.

    3. the sights, most models comes with a small ramp and a notch. perfectly fine for its intended use. SELF DEFENSE. if you want a range gun consider the new 4 inch or the .22, much better sights. oh and i painted the ramp on mine orange with fingernail polish. 100% better

2 inch SP101 is my winter carry gun and has been for about the last 10 years I love it. I even used it to shoot a few ICORE matches with great results.

Good, solid revolver. The trigger pull is long and hard. When I started shooting I tried this one, in short-barreled .357 hammerless version. I compared to a Glock 26. The trigger convinced me I did not want a revolver. I have since learned that the trigger can be improved, but I am now fully stocked with semi-autos and will not consider a wheel gun. The SP101 is a good weapon, but it has a long, slow, heavy trigger pull.

I bought the 3 inch version to carry. It was accurate and shot great. It was really hard to find a nice concealed carry holster for the 3 inch. I found one that was pretty nice but it was a little too big to be comfortable. I wish I had bought the 2 inch.

My favorite handgun. I choose the 327 Federal version with a 3 inch barrel. I shoot 32 S&W, H&R mags and 327 Federals. The 327 will do everything you need and it has much less recoil. I would get a larger frame if I wanted to shoot 357 mags. And a longer barrel to burn-off the powder so you have less barrel flash and its not so loud.

I just bought the new SP101 in 22 long rifle. SP101-22LR-4. I have several 22 handguns but I couldn't pass this one up.

I have the 3.16 inch .357 and I really like it. Yes, it is a bit heavy, but the extra weight makes shooting .357 full power loads still fall in the realm of sanity. Full power .357's will still sting, but it's still manageable.

Only downside to the 3.16 inch version is fewer options for holsters. They can be found somewhat easily, but not as easy as the 2.25 inch version.

Good choice. I have the 2" .357 with hammer. It is my winter carry. I love it.....yes it is heavy, but that helps with the full-load .357s in it. You're going to love it....it is a tank!

Now you can get new Rosewood grip inserts at Altamont Grips and make it look really cool. I recently put Pearl insert in mine and I'm changing them now...... My mistake, a real man just shouldn't use Pearl anything.

I have been looking at getting one as well, finally got to handle one at the last 1500 and really likeed the feel. The .357 seems to be the way to go since you can shoot .38 as well.

Carried one since I was 18 LOVE IT! seriously. They do tend to be a little heavy and expensive but stainless which if you are like me is great as cleaning isn't vital and a little rain or sweat ain't gonna hurt it any. oh and .357 2" barrell all the way.

Deviljunkie I picked up a used 3" sp101 yesterday and the trigger pull needs lots of help. Did you replace both the trigger spring and the hammer spring? If so which poundage hammer spring did you use? Thanks
