Just to muddy your waters....Why a .458 when the .450 Bushmaster is legal...? The .458 is soooooo expensive to shoot. Factory ammo for the BM can be had for less than $30.00 a box...if you are wanting to shoot 600 grain bullets the .458 is for you. 20" .450 uppers can be had for $550.00 and are incredibly accurate with the 250 grain FTX bullets. PS my brother sold his .458 RR and bought a .450 BM..nothing but problems.

point me to the uppers for that price. The ones I found were at the same price as .458 uppers.:dunno:

I bought mine and my buddy bought his a Buds Guns in Lexington, Ky..for $525.00 if you send a check, and that includes free shipping..I looked on their website today but could not find them listed now..but it is a funky site and they were tricky to find before. Call them and get on their "wish list' if they are sold out. Thats what I did and they sent me an email when they got some in.

When we bought ours (3 guys) I thought they were underpriced but I guess the law of supply and demand has caught up, especially with the new Indiana regs allowing them for deer hunting.

Get on Buds "wish list" they will notify you when they get some .450s in..I had one ordered for 3 months from Impact Guns..it was always due in at the end of next month...one day I got a notice from Buds..got it even cheaper..Cabellas had them for like $765.00 (?) same with Midway... there was and is no hurry as deer season is 8.5 months away. I would think they would be at a premium now that the season is official, but they are worth it. They are the real deal.

Bullet, I have a Smith and Wesson 460 Magnum. It has a gold Whitetail Unlimited deer head on one side. It is 'one of one hundred'. It has only been shot five times. Here is a couple pics

Now that 450 bushmaster is legal, why would you want a 458? SOCOM? Has anyone chambered a S&W 460 in a black rifle yet?

.458 uses same mags as .223. .458 diameter bullets have way more choices as to bullet shape/weight. The cartridge headspaces on the shoulder not the rim.

I don't think I would want to shoot an AR in .460 S&W. I don't really think an AR could take it for that matter. The .458 runs almost half the chamber pressure of a .460.
