If it pays real world industry average why would the lack of a union drive wages down?I neither demand or extort anything from my employer . It was a mutual agreement as to the compensation and the work expected .
But ......it will happen . Jobs that use to pay $25 @ hr , will disappear , and reappear at $12.50 @hr and the cost of the goods they produce will not decrease in price......Watch and see.
I realize that there are a bunch of folks out there that are under the misconceptions , that most union jobs pay some kind of crazy outragous amounts of money and everyone that works for a union is some kind of lazy good for nothing piece of crap that works one out of eight hours. Sorry if your misinformed.
My job pays real world industry average
CHALLENGE 88GT I will post my W2's from the years in question with the name of my employers if you will . Because I think you are nothing more than an internet troll. Because as KId Rock said its not cocky if you can back it up . Please do not include the $30 @ week you pay your mom for rent on the basement.
My union pres., vice pres, reps, and officers dont have leather chairs nor do they receive kick-backs. They are on the floor everyday working beside the rest of the dues paying members like myself, and THAT is who negotiates our contract. I do believe that these "fat boys" you speak of are negotiating on behalf of the company.
Very well said ma'am.Point of order: negotiations based on the threat of coercion or use of force to disrupt lawful actions or compel unlawful ones are extortion.
Now, IF wages go down, it will only be because the "prevailing" wages are artificially inflated, supported by nothing more than the extorted, non-competitive labor providers that demand it.
The only misconception taking place is the one wherein union employees think that negotiated wages are representative of free market labor costs. If you can't command a particular wage without threats, you aren't worth it. Period.
I really do not care what they really can or can not offer in benefits. The goverment should not be able to tell an employer how to hire workers.

The only reason it is a "stupid question" is because you are either unwilling, or unable to answer it. How is giving an employee a choice a bad thing? I should be able to choose not only if I join a Union, but where my Union dues go.. If your Union gave money equally to Repubs and Dems, would you be OK with that?
Evidently you support Democrats, who support gun control and government interference in our daily lives.
Why did you not resond when I answered your post dealing with your link(post184) to the misleasding numbers on job growth and increases in wages. I explained how they were bogus.(post 193) Not a word on tha one.
Once again, answering your question, I believe people should have a choice. If I want to work for a union, I shopuld have that right. If I don't want to work for a union, I should have that right. BUT. When you pass RIGHT TO WORK you are basically killing the Unions. I lived in RIGHT TO WORK STATE for 30 years(Florida) So don't tell me about right to work. Iworked in Florida from 1972 to 2002. I was born in Indiana. Came back in 2002. Am old enough to retire but forced to continue working even though I am now collecting social security. Because I lived in a right to work state and had no union I have no pension other than S.S. On the other hand m brother worked as a teamster for 30 years and can afford to kick back and enjoy retirement. Friends I went to school with had a union job in an auto parts factory and is retired. Another drove truck for Roadway (union job) he's sitting pretty good. But you know, I don't begrudge them. I actually admire them for beng smarter than me. I shouldhave done what they done. Actually I,m not doing that bad. I have my own business and in a few years I'll retire. I'm not doing bad . The thing is, I don't even have a horse in this race. I look around this town I grew up in and feel sorry for the young guys growing up today. The empty factories and very few good jobs left. AND if right to work passes, the last of the decent jobs left here will be gone. And all I hear from the young people is half blaming the democrats and the othjer half blaming the republicans. In reality thew RICH have bought off both partys. Our fight is against the rich . the 99% ers have it right. The top !% have bought off all our politicians and they own the News media and keep us busy fighting each othr while they get richer and we all get poorer. Hey, I'm OK, Its you young guys who have to figure out how your going to make a life for yourself. To me it just looks like you are doing your best to sink your own ship. GOOD LUCK
ohh...you done did it now!!
