Not to mention the fact that 4-7 year olds don't vote. And don't care about crap like this, anyway. Seriously, do you remember the books you read in grade school? All I remember was that the square slice of pizza at lunch ROCKED, and a little dark-haired girl who sat in the next row over will always have a little piece of my heart.

If you've got a kid who is susceptible to political indoctrination at grade school age, you've got bigger problems than the current politics of the White House.

It's their intent to START teaching them to be "good little Socialist" at that very young age. Before the become aware!. "Repeat a lie often enough..............."

To back this thought up, as well as to answer a question posed by public servant as to what the hogwash is about. Here:

"Why is it important that we listen to the president and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?"
One of the recommended questions to ask the students prior to the speech.

"Students could record important parts of the speech where the president is asking them to do something. Students might think about the following:
What specific job is he asking me to do?
Is he asking anything of anyone else?
Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?"
Something to write down during the speech.

"Students could discuss their responses to the following questions:
What do you think the president wants us to do?
Does the speech make you want to do anything?
Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?
What would you like to tell the president?"
Something to discuss after the speech.

    Sounds pretty indoctrinating to me.

Why listen to him? What does he want you to do? Can you do it?

Yeah... It stinks of socialism. I imagine the best thing to do would be to discuss with your child the importance of questioning authority, and explaining how elected officials work. Why they are supposed to listen to us. Things like that come to mind. I'm just glad I don't have a child that has to deal with this crap.

And then...to you...what is your thinking as to why Bush Sr. instructed the students in his speech to them in 1991:

"Let me know how you're doing. Write me a letter. I'm serious about this one. Write me a letter about ways you can help us achieve our goals."

Why is this any different than what we are reading Obama asks teachers to do to prepare students for his speech?

Is GHWB's statement any less indoctrinating?

    Obamas BS

My boy came home from school Fri. with a slip for me to sign. It's for the Obama speach. He told the teacher I wouldn't want it, "but she made me bring it home anyway". He is 10 & I guess he picked up on how I feel about Obama. He won't be watching the speech!

Maybe it's the fact that GHWB didn't have Communists working for him. He didn't express a desire to totally wipe out our Constitution and totally change our country to a Socialist one. He didn't have convicted felons working for him. Etc................

AND... Maybe it's because no one approved of it then either. Maybe because we were still the silent majority no one had the ballz to speak up. We've become the Silent Majority No More and people aren't sitting back taking it.

Maybe that's why people are finally making a big stick about this NOW when they didn't do it then.

    Just some food for thought.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I don't remember GWB school speech, but I would have probably let him listen to it. It's my job as a parent to keep things away from my son that i think is not good for him. I don't cuss around him, he can't watch bad movies or play mature games on his PSP, ect. And I sure don't want his mind screwed up by the BS Obama spews from his mouth. When he's older he can make his own choices but not at 10.

I like Barack Obama, and I want kids to know who he is....before you jump down my throat, let me tell you why.

    1. First "President of Color"...yeah, he's half white, but still, it is a historic event. Too bad it couldn't have been someone else, though.

    2. And the most important reason of all....Obama is going to fail. He's going to fail hard....it'll make the Bay of Pigs look like the time Bush choked on a pretzel. Look at the titles of those books, and think of the mindset of the person who wrote them....his supporters have built him up to almost demi-god status, and when he inevitable fails to live up to it, bam....we're looking at another Conservative movement, independents will flock to our banner, and with any luck the image of the Democratic Party will be irreparably damaged, more so if what his REAL agenda is comes to light.

I want our children to know not only who, but WHAT this man is. Let it be a lesson to them in what happens when you pin your hopes on a lying socialist who promises you the moon and can't deliver. I'm hoping that the ultimate story of Barack Obama is the story of a man who revealed not only the corrupt nature of the far left, but how people can be suckering into believing in an image that has no real substance behind it, and how "Hope" can blind the desperate.

Put that in your friggin book.
