Not to mention the fact that 4-7 year olds don't vote. And don't care about crap like this, anyway. Seriously, do you remember the books you read in grade school? All I remember was that the square slice of pizza at lunch ROCKED, and a little dark-haired girl who sat in the next row over will always have a little piece of my heart.
If you've got a kid who is susceptible to political indoctrination at grade school age, you've got bigger problems than the current politics of the White House.
It's their intent to START teaching them to be "good little Socialist" at that very young age. Before the become aware!. "Repeat a lie often enough..............."
And then...to you...what is your thinking as to why Bush Sr. instructed the students in his speech to them in 1991:To back this thought up, as well as to answer a question posed by public servant as to what the hogwash is about. Here:
"Why is it important that we listen to the president and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?"
One of the recommended questions to ask the students prior to the speech.
"Students could record important parts of the speech where the president is asking them to do something. Students might think about the following:
What specific job is he asking me to do?
Is he asking anything of anyone else?
Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?"
Something to write down during the speech.
"Students could discuss their responses to the following questions:
What do you think the president wants us to do?
Does the speech make you want to do anything?
Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?
What would you like to tell the president?"
Something to discuss after the speech.
Sounds pretty indoctrinating to me.
Why listen to him? What does he want you to do? Can you do it?
Yeah... It stinks of socialism. I imagine the best thing to do would be to discuss with your child the importance of questioning authority, and explaining how elected officials work. Why they are supposed to listen to us. Things like that come to mind. I'm just glad I don't have a child that has to deal with this crap.
And then...to you...what is your thinking as to why Bush Sr. instructed the students in his speech to them in 1991:
"Let me know how you're doing. Write me a letter. I'm serious about this one. Write me a letter about ways you can help us achieve our goals."
Why is this any different than what we are reading Obama asks teachers to do to prepare students for his speech?
Is GHWB's statement any less indoctrinating?
Maybe it's the fact that GHWB didn't have Communists working for him. He didn't express a desire to totally wipe out our Constitution and totally change our country to a Socialist one. He didn't have convicted felons working for him. Etc................
