Rand Paul is a guarantee that another Dem will win. Sad as it is, the demographics in this country have changed to the point that any candidate that is conservative or about freedom and less government doesn't have a chance.

I disagree with that statement for one simple reason - how could we know? It's been so long since there's been a (albeit longshot) contender for the whitehouse that's actually believed in smaller government that there may very well be a large group of people willing to vote for him/her.

I think people have been stuck with picking between the giant douche and the turd sandwich for so long that a candidate that has some real backbone would stand a good chance.

I don't think the Republicans have a shot in hell in 16' barring some sort of big mistake by the Democrats. I'd really be worried about 14', especially if no gun control measures are passed. The Dems and the media will drag the right through the ringer.

I wrote in Ron last time... I'd vote for Rand this time. I don't have to agree with everything a candidate says or does... but Rand has proven that he isn't scared to stand up to the establishment and is concerned with protecting citizens from tyrannical rule.

If I were the Republican Party, I'd take a hard look at pushing Rand.... if they could convince Rand to run with Rubio (even though I'm not a huge fan of Rubio) I think the Republicans would be a lock in 2016 regardless of who the Libs put up.

Let's face it... Faux News pretty much controls which Republican is going to win the Primary... let's hope they push for change!

Rand seems too intelligent to get the nomination. I'll vote for him as an independent candidate - if he can get on the ballot here in Indiana. I have seen the light on the Republican vs. Democrate thing. Like Lewis Black said, our two political parties are just like "a steaming bowl of sh*t looking at itself in the mirror".

That is what I would've said 10 years ago, but politics have changed drastically. Obama was too radical but he won. Now he is destroying the country with socialism, and the pendulum my very well swing further in the opposite direction. A lot of Democrats even supported Rand Paul's filibuster. People are starting to wake up to the small government argument, and the more draconian gun bills and tax increases that are proposed by the left, the more people realize the left is not really about freedom at all.

I voted to get the "O" out of Washington in the last election.

It was simple - "Us" vs "Them". And "Them" won, because "Us" spit up.
Just looking at this thread alone, it's very clear that "Them" is going to win again because "Us" can't get our asses together.

All I ever hear are complaints about how bad this place is. Well, I'm sure there's other countries that would love to have you. I hear Cuba is very beautiful this time a year.
Just don't let the Border hit you where the good Lord split you. :n00b:

I don't care who running next, as long as they have a chance in hell in Winning against the Dems. But I'm definitely not voting for some "speck" on my ballot that everyone knows won't even come close.

I would strongly consider voting for Rand, but it would hinge on his actions between now and the election.

I would LOVE to vote for a Republican candidate that I believe in. It was my party until I decided that it was not doing what I thought was right.

Do you want a gun friendly president? How about a guy who stumps at Knob Creek?

Then I believe this country is totally screwed and will not survive it. The country and the economy cannot handle even the rest of obamas term let alone 2 more democrat presidents.

I think Rubio is still too beholding to those who got him where he is today to be effective, or as effective as we need.

Rand is the only one on the radar I'd not only vote for but actively campaign and donate to.

Justin Amash is great and I'd vote for him but he's to young and new to get the nomination ,.IMO.

I fear the gop will nominate another McCain or Romney and lose again. I won't support another rino.

The Us's lost because a majority of the Us's stood for absolutely nothing other than "we aren't Obama".

Obama was elected largely for a few reasons:
#1. entitlements (hand outs - rob the working class)

#2 Illegal immigrant amnesty (Ignore the rule of law for votes)

#3 Ignorance of the populace (media misinformation blitz and slothfullness of the
    students of liberty)

I would consider Rand Paul if it wouldn't split the ticket. Where is Ronald Reagan when you need him?

Today's Republican wants the Mitt Romney type, not the Ronald Reagan type. If they wanted a Reagan conservative, there would have had one on the ballot.

Today's republican is the kinder, softer, anti capitalist type as evidenced by the many anti gouging threads here.
