1 Peter 2:9 states that Christians are "hAGIOS EQNOS," so my (our) ethnicity is "holy." This was not an option on the poll, so I chose "other," just as I have done for years when filling out any sort of form that asks me do state my ethnicity.

In WWII 9% of the Fighter Pilots made 90% of the kills. This got the Military's attention. What did they share? Ruarl upbringing and hunting. They knew guns, they knew hunting, they knew swing and follow through, they knew how to kill.

In Indiana the majority of minorties are raised in cities, Strike 1. Large population centers continue to grow, rural ones shrink, strike 2 for the future of weapons. Many who were raised rural now live urban.

Hopefully the concept of self defense can replace hunting as a reason to own and learn to shoot guns, not likely, the history of man reinforces the low probablity of this happening.

In addition nothing replaces ease of access. Having lived in extremely large cities and exceptionally rural areas I know the differences. It is not race based, it is location.

Another example, within 2 generations, feral dogs pups will be wild. Seems to me it works in reverse too, within 2 generations humans can be totally domesticated.

I just filled out a couple job apps. For ethnicity it asks you to check the box. The first two choices are.

    • White (Not hispanic or latino)
    • Hispanic or Latino ( Not white)

I don't get it. I am both but am not allowed to say so.

Actually, that is on some apps now. In your case pick the one that best serves your purposes, as long as you can prove it, you are not lying.

Exactly right. Pilots, SAC, SEALS, etc etc etc.........Green Berets seem to do best with mix but that is only my opinion not fact based at all.

Which says a lot about nature vs nurture. Freedom is nurtured. So is Socialism and apathy. Guess which tree we feed more these days.

I don't think it's just SOCOM, I noticed it across most of the Combat Arms branches.

You can watch almost any combat footage coming out of Iraq or Afghanistan and notice the lack of "Diversity".

I often wonder if it's patriotism that drives people to those branches, or as posted above, those who are more used to being around firearms. However, I am greatful to anyone who takes time out of their life to serve this country, regardless of what job they choose.

Anymore, when people ask me where my heavily ethnic last name hails from, I always reply "Buckeye". It is the most honest answer I can give since my family roots go back several generations in the mid-west. We are all God's creation and should respect one another for it.

I am blessed to work with serious gunnut, lead-heads of all races, genders, and cultural backgrounds. Makes going to the range is a lot of fun.
