it's because people are sheep! its because people will always say "so and so used it in (insert movie or tv show here), so it has to be good!"
and actually colt snake guns were in demand before twd, because I've seen the prices of anacondas (not used on the walking dead) go from 495 (what I paid for mine in 93) to 2800 (the last used one we sold in 2017)
