Not from POTUS. Bush was a lot of things, but he at least had some composure and respected the office. Clinton was a clown and happened to be in office when conservative talk radio really started to catch on with Limbaugh. That really started the mudslinging in a way we hadn't seen in living memory prior. Decorum has steadily slid down hill as more media and 24 hour access to it has made this nation's political process into a sleazy reality tv show. Only with much less attractive 'talent'. I mean, does anyone really want to see a congressional swimsuit contest? You'd fork your eyes out before you got 1/3 of the way through the Senate. Wait, what was the topic again?
Certainly Limbaugh validated a conservative view. Going back to 1958, with Robert Welch of the John Birch society, there was strong language about the directions the political machines of 1958 were taking this country astray. You are correct, the 1958 speeches were not based on republican or democratic sides, but on ideas and goals that would destroy our nation.

If a person pulls up some of Robert Welch's speeches, you will see that he clearly saw the future and all his warnings have actually happened.

    Yep:

Wikipedia lists him as a conspiracy theorist and says he formed the alt-right... But dang if that clip doesn't seem true.
