    "Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school," Carmona said. "It's about the nutrition and the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom).

    :lol2::facepalm:

    10:1, it is actually FINANCIALLY better (for the school) for kids to BUY their lunch from the school.

    At Claremont Academy Elementary School on the South Side, officials allow packed lunches but confiscate any snacks loaded with sugar or salt. (They often are returned after school.)

    Isn't this theft ?

    How do they define "loaded with sugar"?

    Interesting comparisons:
    (from (Sugar Stacks - How Much Sugar Is in That?))

    Powdered Sugar Donuts (1 pack): 23 grams of carbs
    One apple: 23 grams of carbs

    Fruit Roll-Up: 7 grams
    Strawberries (1 serving): 7 grams

    It's NEVER better nutritionwise to only have the choice to eat school food if the kid won't eat it.

    Just more Chicago corruption...

    The Soviet Union couldn't do it better. The people of Chicago not only tolerate this, they embrace it.

    Being a FORMER Chicago resident, you are right for the most part. The people who do not embrace it, do nothing and just let it go. Chicago sucks, to bad that most of my family resides there.
