I've had mine flicker about 5 times. Why do they do that during these conditions.. I haven't lost power

Just got power back on after 2 hours without it. That is pretty good response on Duke Energy's part. People across the street didn't lose power. Been hearing trees snap for the last three hours. About 1 every 4-5 minutes.

I'm stuck in a hotel in Kentucky. I've been on the road for 2-1/2 weeks now and just want to get home. Last week I was in DC when that storm hit. This last weekend was 70 and beautiful in Atlanta and I finally get to come home and this storm hits. Everyone told me not to try it today so maybe tomorrow will be better. As long as the power stays on at home the family will be safe and warm so thats what matters the most. Some of the pictures are great.

Its a bummer having a grove of trees on the property, it sounded like people dancing on the roof all night.... lots of branches down in the yard now:

Wow, Ice Storm looks like it was a heck of a lot worse than all the snow I got up here!

I didn't think to take pics...took me a solid hour to deice the windows enough to drive to work....was pretty cool sitting inside watching water run down the windshield under the ice ...then, when i got a hole in the ice on the back quarter window (SUV, so behind the rear doors), water ran out...that was pretty cool
