millsusaf, a couple of us have been watching it for a bit now. It is amazing the amount of disinformation that is being thrown out there by various Senators.

    Sickening.

I emailed Lugar again, but I don't have my hopes up about him voting for this. BTW, no one answered the telephone in DC in his office and the voicemailbox was full.

He is supporting Sotomayor as well,

    Letters written and ignored.
    Voting time we must remember.

I agree, Oldfb. I also wrote to him a few days ago and asked that he not vote in favor of Sotomayor and I don't see him changing his mind after his press release stating his position.

I did my part with calling, emailing and writing. I tried. I really, really tried.

:xmad: :bash: :bash::xmad: :wallbash::soapbox::moon:I can't believe this failed...F'n Luger.:dumbass: I am disappointed in him. I hope he loses his next election.

Crime rates are at a 30year low. Right to carry have gone from 10 to 40+ states in that time frame. coincidence??? This bill would have made america safer.

I wonder if "reserve" sheriffs LEO credantials would allow the same carry prevliages as standard LEO's. :nailbite:

Does anyone have a complete list of how the Senator's voted?
Like everyone else....I'm very disappointed. I used to like Lugar. Now he's supporting Sotomayor, voting against gun rights legislation and even supporting parts of Obama-care. He won't be getting my vote come election time!

U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote

This link will take you to the vote tally. Along those lines, I'm doing a little behind the scenes research on various 2A issues that have gone to votes in the House or Senate and will try to get a tally posted with all our current representatives' histories prior to election time. I think it is important to check out how our elected representatives voted prior to re-electing them.

It's one thing to get duped by a first timer making campaign promises...it's another altogether to re-elect someone without holding them accountable for their record at the polls.

I'm encouraged. This amendment has already passed the House, and can be reintroduced again in the Senate. The anti-Constitution Brady bunch and their accomplices in the Senate leadership put forth every bit of political capital they had on this matter, and they could not get a majority of votes. Lots of Dems voted yes... we must differentiate between Dems and the leftists in their leadership. There are as many Dems displeased with the direction their party has taken as there are Reps. It is from those disenfranchised Dems and Reps that the next viable political party will come, but that is another discussion.

This measure will be seen again, and will pass sooner or later.

Yeah, I would love to get rid of Lugar. Bayh voted for it, that surprised me.

It surprised me too! Granted, I don't like the stances he takes on a lot of issues but I'm going to send him an e-mail and applaud him for his vote on this. It may be a small step in the right direction for him...but at least it's a step.

3 democrats did not vote these are looking like guys that to me would vote no, maybe I'm wrong. 2 republicans vote no and it's got to be Lugar, so he's against guns and for illegal aliens, that just turns my stomach. This won't pass ever, I don't think.

20 democrats voted yes, thats enheartening though.

Was there a requirement in the bill that say our state would have to toughen up its requirements (COSTS for us!) to match the other states? If so, I can understand voting against it for that reason.

So, what are Republicans going to do? If no-one knocks Lugar out in the primaries and he gets to run against a Democrat....are you angry enough to vote for the Dem? Or will you just allow him to get away with this betrayal? What'cha gonna do?
