To be somewhat fair, he's not on the hook for any charges, as it stands right now. As far as the law is concerned, he's not guilty yet, right?

They should be billing Foxx if they're billing anyone.

Billing is one thing. Filling a civil suit is another.

I don’t think Smollett needs to be found guilty in a criminal case in order to proceed with a civil suit.

I’m sure they can present the evidence they have to prove that he’s culpable.

Are there any "double jeopardy" sort of silly situations that could arise?

I don't think you would characterize it as not guilty, as there never was a trial.

I thought double jeopardy didn't apply between criminal and civil cases.

Didn't OJ get a "not guilty" from criminal court, then still have to go through civil court?

Yes. His jail time came from trying to steal back some memorabilia if I remember correctly.

Quite the headline, surely not aiming to rile people up

    Smollett -
I have a feeling this delicate snowflake will off himself once the fire gets too hot. He'll blame Trump in a note and the left will treat him as some super-martyr.

I myself will lose no sleep whatsoever. :coffee:

I think this is really something of a feel-good story. The woman failed at getting anyone riled up at the Starbucks, she also did not get the response she expected on her Facebook page, and ultimately she got fired from her job for her antics. The guy is still walking around Palo Alto wearing his MAGA hat. The left responded correctly by rejecting her ideas.

Quite the headline, surely not aiming to rile people up

This one doesn't have a bright side to it. It's bad enough when the click-bait journalism is on a relatively small website that panders to the extremes in either party, but just when you thought the MSM couldn't go any lower, they find a way.

It is impossible for black people to be racist because they are not in authority.

    OH :poop:!

Yeah it was only a matter of time before it broke down along racial lines. It doesn’t matter that many career law professionals were critical of the way Foxx handled the Smollett case.

This story was a racial/political hit job from the very beginning with the Smollet "attack". It is just that additional layers have been added.
