Thats not a conflict of interest unless you assume that they will commit illegal acts based on their endorsement. Using that logic no police union should be allowed to endorse either. However, I will say I agree. Unionized public workers should not issue endorsements as a body.

Unionized and public workers are two terms that should be forever separate. Being lobbied to vote for the people who set your salary IS a conflict of interest.

I also agree about the endorsements, but the difference between police unions and the postal workers union is that the police aren't charged with delivering ballots.

Weren't the guys in the first instance addressed by police, and subsequently sued by the DoJ? I'm unfamiliar with the second instance. I just see Black guys with guns posing with an Abrahams sign. It does not appear they are at a polling location. Can you please direct me to source where it is indicated that these four men were intimidating voters?

In the first pic (2008), charges were dropped against 3 of the 4 members of the New Black Panthers. The one against whom charges were not dismissed (Shabazz) received a slap on the wrist.

Probably because they weren't breaking the law. "Standing menacingly with guns," near (how close is "near") a polling site, while not saying anything but making eye-contact with people who entered the voting (not building but) "area," doesn't quite seem to reach the level of intimidation. The article you used as a cite, is to put politely, less than desired. There are number of incorrect facts, and suppositions. The author crafted is own opinion, and tried to pass it off as fact.
