He's living in the wake of two ex-presidents, aspires to be one, and is currently failing hard. I'd say a constant feeling of not meeting expectations is going to take its toll.

Division HQ is third echelon (according to doctrine) three miles behind the front line. In an Airborne assault a division would form an air head approximately 1 mile in diameter. That puts the Div. HQ about 1/2 mile from the enemy. The 82d held out until 1979 and then they forced us to take them at division level.

I was NCOIC in charge of the 8 PM - 8 AM shift with 5 females in my charge because they were afraid to let them sleep in the field at night. Of course I had to watch them all day and take them to the showers when I was not allowed to shower. Had to do all the heavy lifting because 2 of them could not do what one man could do.

I transferred to a battalion.
