Does anyone else notice that the POTUS has a very loose grasp on the proper use of the English Language?

He has handlers that script his every teleprompter word.

Is this a mere attempt to endear him with the unwashed masses??

Are you asking if he is talking like a black person? The title suggests that. Poor choice of words or something else worse.

All politicians tune their speech to their audience. Of COURSE the POTUS slips a little "local dialect" into some speeches. All good speakers do. Unfortunately, this POTUS is a very good speaker. Not much else, but a good speaker.

OK, maybe a good teleprompter reader. Still unfortunately good.

Whatever he is (a true believer if you ask me), Obama is not a moron.

Everyone makes malapropisms, spoonerisms, inter alia in speaking. It happens.

I am not concerned about his continual misprouncing words, it is what he is saying that concerns me.:D

I really, really hope you're referring to the last two decades' worth and not just the current one.

Let's not forget Reagan losing his train of thought regularly, Bush Sr. not being able to enunciate anything, Clinton asking for the definition of "is" and Bush Jr. screwing up damn near every speech he ever tried to make.

Obama is far more articulate than any of those. Whether you like what he has to say or not, he says it well.

Trying to connect with his audience.

    Political BS.

Like john f. kerry going into a wal-mart and asking.. "It this where I get me a huntin' license?!"

Or hillary clinton giving the "I'm no ways tired" southern drawl speech.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaDQ1vIuvZI

    BS political posturing.
None of the above speakers have ANYTHING in common with whom they were speaking to.

At times I find myself altering my diction, depending on the group around me. Sometimes it is intentional and at other times I don't even recognize it. Sometimes I do it to make others comfortable and other times it's to make me feel comfortable. However, I never consider anyone "unwashed," including myself.

It's very similar to the times when I notice people who sound like Harvard professors in one setting and then participants on the set of My Redneck Vacation, in others. I would think if anyone is around different groups of people, it's something that can become very natural.
