I seem to remember a thread a while back discussing how the "left" (for lack of a better description) has been trying to tie violent acts to proponents of the "right", when it is more often than not folks with left/socialist ideals that actually commit the violent acts? Seems this would dovetail nicely into that discussion.

"This post is worthless without facts".

We see one nutjob who spouts liberal ideology being violent & now most violence is caused by liberals? Really?

Post some facts to back up that claim.

I hope All Gore is proud that he and his movie destroyed this poor man's mind. His blood is on Mr. Gore's hands.

I hope All Gore is proud that he and his movie destroyed this poor man's mind. His blood is on Mr. Gore's hands.

As much as I despise Gore and everything he spouts, I do not blame him for this nutcase's actions. I do not believe that a rational person can read a book, or listen to a song, and based solely on that book or song, become somehow "brainwashed' into going on a killing spree.

It is "the left" that wants us to believe that books/songs/speeches "make" normal people go out an kill or rape, because they refuse to believe that those people are responsible for their own actions. It may be possible that those who advocate such censorship hold these beliefs because they themselves are unstable, and honestly think that if they listen to a song or read a book that suggests that someone should be killed, they would suddenly be unable to resist the urge to go kill. I dunno - I'm not a shrink, but I know that I've read books, and listened to songs that had all sorts of messages, and somehow I have never had to urge to go out and commit mass murder, or rape.

I can't possibly advocate censorship - even of people I find laughable or objectionable - like Gore, the KKK, radical muslims, or socialists. For one thing, for one thing, it's only a matter of time before those in power decide that it's "you" who have the "undesireable" message, and secondly, I firmly believe that everyone's message should be available - if it's illogical or stupid, only be letting people hear that message will people come to realize how stupid or illogical it is.

And yes, I do consider Gore to be as illogical as the KKK, radical muslims, etc.

I was listening to Don Wade on WLS radio two days ago and he was talking to a Newsman from one of the Big Three media outlets. I can't recall the outlet or the reporter's name, but Don Wade pointed out that this hostage taker had said that he was inspired by Al Gore and Al Gore's book
Wade asked the reporter if they were going to mention that in the national media or simply sweep it beneath the rug.
Wade went on to say that if this gunman had claimed to have been inspired by Rush Limbaugh that the Media would have splattered the airwaves with this.
The reporter being interviewed brushed this query off and told Wade that he was "making a joke" of the situation.
Wade's response was that he was very serious and was not making light of the situation. Wade further challenged this reporter to bring this aspect up when the reporter appears on Meet The Press.
Of course the reporter skirted what should have been a straight-forward answer.
