    The backside of nowhere
You know, I have never been accused of being real "toughy-feely" so here is my take on this situation and all of these kinds of situations. Unless it is pretty obvious that this guy has a dead man switch hooked up to what they assume to be a bomb, I think that this nut and any nut that does something like this should be dropped by a good sniper. No talking with him. No trying to get him to come out peacefully. Just dispatch him if at all possible. But you say "He's mentally unstable and he deserves our pity." BS says I. If he is so "mentally unstable" that this seems like a rational way to air his complaints on what ever his crazy gripe is, he is too dangerous to allow him to remain in society. You do not try to rehabilitate a rabid dog or a rabid raccoon. You put them down. I see no difference.

    That's just my :twocents: though.

Sounds like it ended somewhat well, with the guy being disposed of before he hurt anyone else.

This is gonna throw a big curveball to the liberals tough. This guy was a save the planet, stop all wars kinda guy. You know, the lovable kind of guy that takes a gun and threatens to blow up a bunch of people.

I wonder how long it will take the left to spin this that he was actually a Tea Partier or some such..that seems to fit the stereotype much better.... :n00b:

    In the trenches for liberty!
Md. police kill Discovery gunman, 3 hostages safe

Then she said someone knocked on the door and told them to leave the building. She said there was some confusion as they were told to go to an upper floor or down the stairs.
"Finally, I screamed, 'tell us where we need to go...I just want to get out of there,'" she said. "I was shaking...I was like what do we do what do we do?'"

What would this situation have looked like if just a few employees were armed?

Someone slip in a new rule I'm unaware of? :dunno:

Yes and you had/have to go to the site suggestion section of whatever to find it then if I remember right find the thread..... it may be in the rules thread now or something.

I PM'd a Mod in the thread who shall remain nameless asking if in the futre they could send a mass PM telling people about rule changes and he never replied.........

Why tell people to PM with any questions but then never reply????

EDIT: yeah it is in the rules thread now........ you can't quote anything from not on this site in anymore.

It's not only this guy you have to worry about. It's the people that sit around and think about how they're going to itimidate and iritate the :poop: out of somebody hoping for a negative reaction. They sit around sodimizing their own minds planning acts of terror and involve innocent people who do not realize they're aiding in the accomplishments of that sociopaths agenda such as in this case. A quote I once heard from a person: " It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt". So what does that person do, they continue to push buttons until they're satified with their destructive results.
I avoid this type person at all costs.
They have no regards for your safety or anyone elses around them. I would rather be in my own company than in the company of this type of reckless destructive individual.:yesway:

He was talking about the new rule that forbids quoting of direct text from other websites.
"I see, said the blind man."

Or should I not quote that? (I kid... don't ban me!)

I seem to remember a thread a while back discussing how the "left" (for lack of a better description) has been trying to tie violent acts to proponents of the "right", when it is more often than not folks with left/socialist ideals that actually commit the violent acts? Seems this would dovetail nicely into that discussion.
