Family & I just returned from our recent trip to MT & Yellowstone NP.
We have always stayed in Paradise Valley & hope to get up to the Glacier Park area at some point.
A few pics from our latest adventure.

Some Grizzlies at Yellowstone. These were 1/4 mile or more up the hill. We had a much closer encounter with one in the Tetons a few days later, but I was busy getting away from it and not taking pictures!

Brooks Lake. Beautiful area that's being threatened by a big wildfire right now.

Trying to fish this creek and we came around the corner and disturbed this Moose. We went the other way and let her keep her spot.

Up above Mistymoon lake in the Bighorns. There were three huge bull moose in the treeline below us that we got to watch for a bit.

They were too far away for a clear shot with a phone, but my son got a couple of photos with his drone

IMG_2909.jpegHere’s some more pictures of Smith Island, and it felt like being in another country! People drive vehicles without tags here and get their power from Virginia because it’s so remote. Most of the residents talk with a southern accent and have roots for over 350 years here as well. One of the few exceptions was a lady who happened to have grown up in the same county as me aka Carroll County, MD.

    In the country, hopefully.
Thanks. It's beautiful country, and I try to make sure we get out there at least every two or three years. It kinda draws me back. If I could find a way to make a living there I'd move in a heartbeat.
Wind River Range was my first backpacking trip my dad took me on, circa 1985. Your pictures brought back a lot of memories, I felt like I was right there.
Haven’t been back since but hopefully that will change.

We've been to the Bighorns 5 or 6 times, but this was our first time in the Winds. We only got a little taste, and it was awesome...can't wait to go back!
